Europe cannot afford complacency. Solidarity, democracy & peace must be defended.

🌹Progressive forces must unite for Ukraine, for citizen safety, and for a Europe that will never bow to intimidation. ✊🏼🇪🇺

🗣️We call for:

👉🏼Clear, united condemnation of all airspace violations

👉🏼Strengthened defensive measures along EU’s eastern borders

👉🏼Urgent support to Ukraine: military, logistics & political

👉🏼Sanctions & accountability for Russian leadership

👉🏼Strong EU solidarity

❌We condemn Russia’s blatant disregard for sovereignty & international law, and Belarus’ enabling of such actions. These provocations endanger civilians & infrastructure.

🌹Our solidarity is with Ukraine.

🚫These are not isolated incidents but part of a strategy to intimidate, destabilise & test Europe’s unity.

The war in Ukraine is at our doorstep.

👉🏼On 19 Sept, 3 Russian MiG-31 jets entered Estonian airspace without flight plans, ignoring ATC until intercepted by NATO. Russian jets also violated the safety zone around the Petrobaltic platform in the Baltic Sea. #Russia #Estonia

👉🏼On 9–10 Sept, 19–23 Russian drones entered Polish airspace. Airports in Warsaw, Rzeszów & Lublin suspended operations. Poland had to neutralise Russian drones on NATO territory for the first time in history. #NATO #Europe

We, the Young European Socialists, are alarmed by recent Russian airspace violations & drone incursions threatening Europe’s security and democratic foundations. 🇪🇺 #StandWithUkraine

🌹May we honor his memory by continuing to foster empathy and support for those struggling among us.

⚫️ Remembering Eemeli Peltonen (15 September 1994 – 19 August 2025), whose life was cut far too short.

👉🏼A respected comrade, public servant and rising star in Finnish politics, Peltonen brought compassion and a deep commitment to his community.

🇪🇺We call on the EU institutions and Member states to continue working for better trade conditions and benefits for EU industries.

✊️We as Young European Socialists will not tolerate Trump’s way of “cooperating”. The new deal is far from equal and the EU must act!

💪At a time when the EU should strengthen its sovereignty, Von der Leyen, on her own, deals to buy more US gas and armament. And she does so even without any counterparty, for instance on GAFAM regulations.

🌹A new humiliating trade deal between EU and the US has been agreed upon, and while a 15 % tariff is an improvement from the 30 % originally suggested by the US, it is still not enough.

✊ We’re ready to start our 17th congress in #Paris!

🙌 We want to wish all our comrades a space for debate and sharing of ideas.

🌹✊🏼YES will continue to advocate for a peaceful, just, and cooperative international order.

❌We reject warmongering and demand accountability from those who fuel conflict.

🇪🇺We call on the EU and the international community to take decisive action for de-escalation and peace.

✊🏼Solidarity must lie with the people, not with those who profit from war and division.

👉🏼There is no military solution to this crisis.

🤝🏼The only path forward is diplomacy, dialogue, and strict adherence to international law — with full respect for human rights and the protection of civilians.

👉🏼YES firmly condemn the recent escalation of violence between Iran and Israel.

‼️This spiral of aggression puts countless civilian lives at risk and threatens regional and global peace.

✊🏼In times of crisis, solidarity and humanitarian support are essential.

👉🏼Political agendas should never come at the cost of human lives.

🇪🇺We call on all European governments and global actors to pressure Israel to respect human rights and ensure the delivery of aid without interference.

🌹✊🏼YES stand firmly against this violation of international law.

👉🏼Blocking humanitarian aid and silencing activists is unacceptable and must be condemned by the international community.

👉🏼The activists on board, including Greta Thunberg, were detained and taken to Ashdod, Israel. Thunberg and three others voluntarily signed deportation papers and were deported today.

‼️The remaining eight activists, including Rima Hassan, refused deportation and are contesting their detention.

👉🏼Yesterday, The Madleen, carrying essential aid to Gaza was intercepted and boarded by Israeli authorities.

⚠️The activists on board were uncontactable, raising serious concerns for their safety and wellbeing. This action is an attempt to obstruct humanitarian assistance to a region in urgent need.

On this May 9th, Europe day, we call for more integration and cooperation among Member States, for the reinforcement of the EU institutions, and for a tangible and realistic perspective for enlargement to achieve a truly united Europe 💙

It is getting harder to afford a home in Europe.

With housing prices and speculation on the rise, it affects both younger and older people.

We need to invest in intergenerational solidarity to tackle the issues that we are facing.

🏡As we celebrate the European Day of Solidarity between Generations today, our event on “Housing Challenges for Youth and Seniors” will bring together young and more senior activists to look into how intergenerational solidarity can help tackle challenges like the housing crisis in Europe.
