It's honestly frustrating the resistance there is to leaving FANDOM, considering everyone hates it and the writing is clearly on the wall, but it's "too hard" to fight with FANDOM's algorithm.

Got rejected from wiki.gg "for now" due to not having the agreement of everyone else (head admin) to move the FANDOM wiki, so that's a bummer. At least the process seems simple enough.

Every time I think one problem has been resolved, another one presents itself.

Welp, TM Miraheze has been reinstated - with nothing of the original wiki, which is a pity. Attempting a database import now.

The Steam release of "Mahoutsukai no Yoru" has exceeded 1,000 reviews and has maintained its "Overwhelmingly Positive" score.

I've been debating whether to poke at wiki.gg since it's game-focused and they prefer if there's dev involvement ... man wouldn't that be a dream ...

Mon dieu, I didn't think waiting on Mirahaze to reinstate the TYPE-MOON wiki would take so long. Looking back on past requests, there's still one sitting in the works from at least August. Guess I should consider other wikifarms after all.

No worries on that front! The intention is definitely to rework all the articles. The original wiki is notoriously copypasta, so I'm seeing this is an opportunity for a lot of cleanup.

* Following up on these points, a dedicated Discord eventually would be helpful for organising, but that's only if enough people get on board. As it stands, I'm fine without one and would rather shuffle people along to existing ones.

* Templates - always a nightmare on FANDOM

Aniplex will be having a 20th anniversary talk and signing event on January 7, 2024. The Fate series will be having a panel with Noriaki Sugiyama and Ayako Kawasumi discussing past Fate works.

What I want to make clear is that I don't want to belittle the efforts of anyone throughout the last 10+ years. This is a very dedicated fandom, which is part of why I love it.

* How to handle translations??? Let me regale you with tales of the translation and localisation wars ... I fully admit I've been heavy handed myself with forcing changes. Anyway, not sure how to minimise any potential conflict there.

(That said, I'm sorry but I think "Altria" has won out by now.)

Stuff to figure out:

* "On this day" on the front page - list birthdays, anniversaries, significant events?

* Discord embed - at least I assume this is possible, unless it's a FANDOM-only thing

* Links e.g. TM site, Beast's Lair

* An active community of editors

BUT ALSO

* Some sort of editorial board, given how sensitive fandom is about accuracy (which, y'know, fair!)

ftr I think anything for Melty Blood in the context of the FGC will exist as its own thing on Mizuumi, and that's fine

* Partner up with other wikis like the FGO wiki if they ever choose to abandon FANDOM, kinda like Weird Gloop and the Runescape wikis (admittedly this seems unlikely given they've REALLY made the site work for them)

* Actually I want a TM wiki alliance (FGO, Beast's Lair, Tri-Hermes, etc.)

Nice to haves:

* The wiki to be independent of a wikifarm (e.g. Bulbapedia, Touhou Wiki)
* "Embed" or at least "partnering" with the TM discord

In an ideal world, someone of that calibre would be running the show.

But I've wanted a "proper" wiki for a long time, and I guess this became a case of "if no one else will, I'll have to do it myself".
