It would deflate the oligarchy quite a lot in the process. That would be a real advantage.

Reminder that ANYBODY can nominate a work for the Le Guin Prize.
Not only can you nominate your favorite books of last year. You SHOULD.
I don't let my social media platforms define what kind of loser I am

I always say thisβif any data or footage is collected anywhere, eventually police will come asking for it or someone will figure out a way to sell them access to it. This is also true of ICE.

The Dilley concentration camp Liam was in, had 1,000 children in it in 2015.
Before Trump ever walked down that escalator, it was an atrocity.
But, one that wasn't harshing the vibes so visibly.
they want us sick and tired so they can control us. they want us poor and unhoused so they can mistreat, imprison, and exploit free labor from us. they want us dead because they like eugenics.

When you hear them ask
(and you will hear them ask)
why astronauts
and Olympic athletes
are still wearing masks
in 2026,
kindly but firmly reply
that the real question is
if astronauts
and Olympic athletes
are still wearing masks
in 2026
then why arenβt the rest of us.
This image features a CDC informational graphic about at-home tests for respiratory virus infections. The question, "Are at-home tests available for respiratory virus infections?" is followed by the answer: "Yes, tests are available for COVID-19, flu, or both. Results can help guide your next steps." The image also includes illustrations of test kits, including nasal swabs, test strips, and a thermometer. The bottom of the image displays the CDC website link, "cdc.gov/respiratory-illnesses," along with the CDC logo. The overall design is clean, with soft colors and clear, easy-to-read text.

People 65 years or older and people with underlying conditions should be treated for Influenza or COVID as soon as possible. π
Including disabled people in our utopian futures pushes back against a eugenicist ideal.

ICE βleftβ Chicago in November, but theyβve disappeared three people from my community in two days this week.
Donβt believe the hype about them, leaving Minnesota, either.
"Contrary to baseless assertions that movements to defund and abolish prisons, police, and ICE are partially to blame for where we find ourselves, the refusal to heed these calls is precisely what paved the way for the current regime," @dreanyc123.bsky.social writes.

The reality is the government and both parties are more concerned with the ethnic cleansing being done civilly then ending the ethnic cleansing altogether and that is the problem people are being propagandized into thinking that because there isnβt a surge going on whatβs happening is constitutional

Maria Antonia Guerra Montoya was used as bait by ICE, just like they did to Liam Ramos.
The Dilley camp has held the 9 year old for 113 days. She wrote a letter pleading to go home to Columbia.
Make noise for all of them.
Public pressure got Liam released.
Now close the camps.
I get tired of saying it, but Iβll say it again: the nature of oppression in America is that they workshop it first on Black, Latino, Asian & Native people.
But it is always, in the end, coming for everyone.
We are seeing in Minnesota that WE have the power to care for, provide for & defend our communities ourselves. We have the chance right now to look at our state governance and go βwhat do you actually do for us? What do you actually provide, beyond seeking your own power?β And we can change that.
