Remote KVMs are insanely cheap today, and Wayland remote sessions aren't a taboo anymore... I might go for it.
Seriously evaluating getting rid of the thin client home server I'm running now in favor of moving some of that workload to my desktop and a cheap VPS.
NAS would still be a thing, connected to a 100x powerful machine.
