Today I read some of @melissaf-b.bsky.social's How to Have an Enemy and went to see @nathanevansfox.bsky.social and it was exactly what I needed.
So I guess I still contain multitudes.

Folks don’t want you to reinstall the institutions. They want you to commit to the vision of equity and justice that the institutions promised and never delivered on in full.

Dictatorship has never been unthinkable in the US—it just isn’t being laundered through liberal institutions anymore. This is why moving left is pivotal; you gotta have something to address the hard power underneath the polite institutions.

This is the part where you start reminding liberals that those who haven’t benefited from capitalist societies have always experienced society as a bipartisan dictatorship of the rich, bosses, cops, schools, hospitals, and the like.
