World Delirium Awareness Day Four Years On: Where has it taken us? | British Geriatrics Society A β€˜day’ may be easy to designate, but creating a movement for sustainable change takes time, patience, and nurturing. It is with enormous pride that we look back at just how far we have come since 201...

However we can:

🧠 contribute to research to help us learn more
🧠 ensure we discuss it with patients and carers and consider post-D care
🧠 pursue active screening/ diagnosis and aim for 100% #4AT #justdoit
🧠 talk about it with our teams as the critical illness it is, and stop it being minimised

Since I started work we’ve made so much progress with diagnosing delirium, ascertaining its relationship with dementia, and advocating for informed and compassionate care of people suffering it.

Still so much to do though and so many unknowns…..

We had this once with home made olive tapenade! Tragically it was decided it was a liquid but suggested we could decant it into our palms to carry through and then eat. Had a few spoons then left it behind
