A cream jug on a table, with a cloth with oranges, on the wall behind a study of a man sitting on a bed.
#SomethingBeautiful another still life from my aunt, Mary Lace. The painting on the wall is one she did in college.

"Once upon a time a widow had two darling little girls & they made friends with a bear & a dwarf was mean to them & when the dwarf got knocked dead the bear became a prince & married Snow White & lived happily ever after"
Me: I can do something with that
100,000 words later: BONE & BLOOD :D
This is a hugely important story: everyone concerned with learning and truth should read it. Presented with prompts about a lesser-known turn-of-the-last-century composer, an LLM produces a nice, clear readable evaluation of her Symphony No. 1 - which DOESN'T EXIST. Everything is made up. π΅βπ«

If you teach please show your students this. If you're a student, please read this.
The answers LLMs generate are not all alike. They are more likely to hallucinate on topics we don't already know a lot about. Even answers with "sources" shouldn't be trusted.

A large part of storytelling is deciding what to tell your readers, and when. You don't need to give all the answers, but on some level, you need to know them.
