I used to need total silence to be able to concentrate, but lately I work better with something (literally anything) in the background. I usually try to find longer or deluxe albums so the vibe stays somewhat the same for a couple of hours. Noah Kahan’s stick season forever album is ideal!

I like to switch a lot honestly because I think it’s more important to hear from a certain character in a certain scene. For example switching from Steve to Eddie in No Rest For The Wicked when the penny dropped, or Eddie’s chapter in crushcrushcrush to discover what his relationship had been like

There was a few points in When He Loved Me that I’d change, I think. Mostly around giving the reader more of an idea that Hopper was watching Steve from afar. I left it out initially to avoid giving too much structure to Steve’s life at the time. I’ve editted bits and pieces back in but not a lot

17- It depends! I keep big bangs and exchanges very close to my chest, and mostly with ongoing wips I only talk about the details on my private twitter. If I’m excited though (like the alpha auction idea) I’ll spill it to the timeline

I look up songs that might be related to whatevers happening in the story and chose a lyric that fits the story. I’ve used bible verses for chapter titles twice now too

I’d change a lot about crushcrushcrush. I fell for a dumb hate campaign and ended up pulling Chrissy’s character apart to appease it. She was originally much more three dimensional with her intentions a lot easier to empathise with. There was going to be a full chapter from her POV and everything

There’s a confrontation scene in peace & pursue between Steve and Eddie and we find out a lot about their history. Its going to have so much information and turn a lot of things already established in the story on their head a little bit, and I’m worried about getting it right

I think I’m good at coming up with like, that One Line, you know? Describing Steve as ‘the fragile titan’ in good boys get, Eddie’s ghost ‘a radio in another room that he wasn’t paying attention to’ in the Just Your Imagination? thread. Things like that, I like about what I write
