If you go to “kubuntu” or other less known ones you are a technical User that did research and wants to tinker

So I have been figthing with a memory leak that only happens on windows, but not on osx or linux (steamdeck)

I spent two weeks tearing the build apart trying to pinpoint what was the cause.

the "solution" was to force DirectX 11.

You should be able to screw yourself over with big brain shenanigans in a strategy game and my favorite combo in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown proves it.
