Trump accounts just got a massive promised donation. Hereβs what to know about who qualifies
Experts say the massive donation is a boon to children, but concerns remain with the structure of the accounts.
An announcement by Michael and Susan Dell that they will donate more than $6 billion in the form of contributions to soon-to-be-opened Trump accounts is a βsuper excitingβ development for American children, experts say.

Thank you (and thank you Rich) for always having her when you could. Every time I got to hear a Donna Jean story straight from her, it was such a pleasure. And I learned so much about her from your episode(s) featuring her and her relationship with Keith. I gained such a deep appreciation for her β€οΈ

This was a total labor of love. Weeks of digging through archival footage, conversations about top moments, asking colleagues to mine their memories for institutional knowledge I might not have known - was a very fun project indeed.

10 major moments from 50 years of PBS News
Relive half a cenutry of PBS News history through these big moments.
Fifty years ago, Robert MacNeil and Jim Lehrer brought you a novel way to watch news: a half-hour program, free of commercials, that aimed to tell one in-depth story per night. Over the next five decades, that show morphed into what we now know as the PBS News Hour. https://to.pbs.org/3L0sjyv

The Deadcast is always a must listen for me but wow, y'all absolutely crushed the back half of this one in particular. Hearing Hunter's interpretation interspersed with the lyrics and Jurgen's essay is a really terrific storytelling choice. Y'all did Franklin's justice!

What to know before you buy a weight loss supplement on TikTok
Experts say supplement companies have tried to capitalize on the GLP-1 craze, putting the phrase in their product names, which can be deceptive.
Supplement manufacturers have capitalized on the explosive popularity of diabetes control and weight loss drugs such as Ozempic, Wegovy and Zepbound by flooding the market with their own pills, powders, drops and patches bearing βGLP-1β branding.

A closer look at who relies on Medicaid
According to health policy experts, there may not be a way to fund the tax cuts proposed by House Republicans without cutting Medicaid.
If Medicaid is potentially on the chopping block, we should seriously consider who it serves and how. My latest for @pbsnews.org

5 facts about the federal workforce that may surprise you
Federal data paints a varied portrait of the people who make up the U.S. civil service.
While about 454,000 federal employees do work in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia, more than 80% of the federal workforce lived elsewhere in the U.S. or abroad in 2024.

What you need to know about impoundment, and how Trump vows to use it
It's a concept thatβs normally dry, esoteric and distanced from Americans' everyday lives, yet the heart of the matter is a key question of American democracy.
At the heart of this matter is a key question of American democracy: whether, under the U.S. Constitution, the president has more spending authority than either Congress or the Supreme Court has ever previously permitted.

Short of it not recording the audio, how useful do you think Granola would be for a reporter? I feel like I finish an interview, hang up the phone, and immediately forget 2/3 of what a source and I talked about. My org already has a transcription service but I'm curious about trying this too.

I have not heard the interview on WNYC, so I cannot argue for or against the veracity of anything, but the person being quoted here is saying Gillibrand said "Republicans are falling into line bc they're getting death threats." So this is (allegedly) not about death threats against Gillibrand.
