Feel bereft now I’ve finished it!

I’ve just finished Ripeness by Sarah Moss. It was glorious.

It’s also really refreshing to hear MPs so open to learning and humble about what they do and don’t know!

Lots of good practice to be found and plenty of purposeful collaboration, increasingly place-based which I think is crucial.I also co-lead a national network of trust CPD leads, 250+MATs, exploring how we best lead teacher development at scale - @trustcpdleads.bsky.social. Some great work happening!

We have well performing, fully inclusive schools, serving some of the most deprived communities in the UK - despite challenges we’ve made good progress in attendance, behaviour & outcomes.

Budgets are tough of course but think BP has prioritised the right things, strategic direction is the right one and her comms/messaging to the sector is on point and very welcome.

Absolutely agree, and many of us are!

We should be so proud to have an education secretary whose purpose shines through everything she does, who remembers the free school meals kid she was, who believes every child matters, and who acts on it

Free breakfast clubs are boosting attendance and improving behavior in some schools according to head teachers. There is no doubting this policy has been a huge success for Labour in its first year in government
