Why do we give so little care to anyone not in a car in this country. Just walked to the train station, roads treated & clear, pavements untreated & turning to a slushy icy hazard! Some of the most vulnerable trying to walk to the shops safely, but that’s fine isn’t it if the cars are not held up.

Driver: A small slip and your $60,000 SUV might need a lot of expensive work.

Person on a bike: Whoopsie! gonna need to spend a few bucks a new bar grip in the spring.

Weekly grocery run with bike. Minneapolis. 18F/-8C. 4 bags of groceries. SUV behind me had drive up service too, for two bags of groceries. Everybody needs food. We don’t all have to get it with cars.

We biked to school today and had a great ride. “I’ve missed riding with you,” my daughter said as we set out. ❤️ I helped push for these new bike racks at school, and while their bike setup still isn’t great, it’s better than it was. Incremental progress.

Bicycles aren't inconvenient; they have been inconvenienced.

Cities like to brag about how many kilometres (or miles) of bike paths they have, but the number doesn’t tell you anything about quality, connectivity, or usefulness.

They should instead be judged on actual bike volumes (like from bike counters) or overall cycling mode share.

Comments are off because SUV owners need not reply to this with their desperate justifications for owning an SUV. Just go and rethink your life choices. You still have an opportunity to be decent people. Nothing is stopping you.

Took the SUV(Sustainable Utility Vehicle) to COSTCO. Handles like a dream with 54 packs of ramen, a watermelon and a year’s supply of TP.

The Elizabeth Line this year moved more people than the 18 lanes of the 401 freeway, the widest in North America.

Traffic is simply a geometry problem, and adding one more lane won't fix it.

Is it time to ban floating bus stops once and for all?
