Yes absolutely! It slipped my mind because that's not the genre we usually play, but there are so many stunning ones out there.
You've hit the nail on the head with it just being a different medium of storytelling, and it's unfortunate that people get so snotty and elitist about it

Is it somehow higher prestige to play boardgames than videogames (yes, but why)? What about video/multimedia boardgames? Does it matter if you're working together with someone? Sure some games don't have ~real educational value~, but the same can be said for all media.

I was thinking about this the other day, because F and I do mostly play video games in our free time, and I've had similar reactions when people find out. Arguably, video games engage your brain more than watching TV and differently than reading (problem solving, decisions, arguably reflexes, etc).

Very excited that Breathing Spaces panel I organised (with the usual suspects!) was accepted to the PLURILINGMEDIA conference in December. We've come a long way since 2019, and I can't wait to really get into it

Wonderful to hear of ‘Abhainn Burn River’, a new book by students in Donegal and Tyrone that features writing in Irish, English and Ulster Scots. The book was inspired by Flann O’Brien, who was born in Strabane, an area in which three languages and three rivers meet.

The real answer is that there is a well established, highly transient population in my fieldsite and they buy and sell a LOT of cars, and aren't afraid to advertise to their target audience. The ratio of car dealership to total population is entirely absurd
