the sonic fandom and the metroid fandom are hilarious mirror images where one takes everything the japanese devs say about the characters as gospel and thinks everything that doesn't adhere to it is sacrilege, while the other looks at anything nintendo says about samus and is like "that's wrong"

that's fair. the joycons are also just using much newer and better gyro that make it all feel better. i had the same feeling when i could control the ball better in mario galaxy on switch vs wii. the wii did give us some amazing on-rail shooters tho like sin and punishment.

i was reminded how in the PSwii60 era there was a time a lot of people just seemed to hate "gimmicks" whether it was in games or if it was hardware acting like gimmicks aren't part of innovation and often the hook that makes you interested in something to begin with

square enix was like this too. many of your favorite game companies were like this at one point in time.

every small company will have the one director who is in control of everything because they have to manage it all. this is normal. as companies grow it's impossible to manage by a single person alone so roles shift and change, more are added, more are brought on to fill the roles.
