dazai absolutely loves every single one of the awkward and weird situations that stem from an age gap relationship and chuuya hates it. dazai actively seeks out those situations because she thinks chuuya being embarrassed is funny lmfao

dazai is in her element (a social situation where she can make everyone else feel uncomfortable except her) meanwhile chuuya can't even explain the truth because he's internally bluescreening going WEVE ONLY BEEN OFFICIALLY DATING A YEAR DOES SHE WANT ME TO PROPOSE ...?? HUH???

so before chuuya got the chance to introduce dazai as his /partner/ his professor reaches to shake her hand and goes "mrs nakahara, I presume?" and as chuuya is processing that and going red around the ears dazai just chirps "not yet!"

I imagine it's at like. some university awards presentation thing, chuuya wrote a research paper that won prizes because he's clever!! and ofc dazai came to support, but at undergrad level it's still sort of the age where parents might come to see that sort of thing?

small thoughts from yday:

they have a 17? 18? year age gap but they don't look alike so people rarely assume dazai is anything other than chuuyas partner but she got mistaken for his mother ONCE and of course she REVELLED in the chaos it caused.
