Yup! Sd2vita works on modded Vitas (it's very easy to mod) and slips right into the game slot. EZPZ. you can get an hshop-like app that'll get you the whole library, too. Solves everything.

Fits in a pocket, has twin sticks, nice OLED screen, plays three generations of Sony libraries.

I packed mine with games cause I'm trapped in my in-laws' tiny single room remote cabin and it getting me through this weekend.
