It corrupted the scene1 file where the dialogue and scene structure are kept and, for some reason, the steam cloud has damn near every single other file backed up except that one. What luck.

Just had the cosmically improbable worst case scenario happen. Our power blinked while I was in the middle of saving the VN and I lost the entirety of Atticus' route so far. Luckily I'd exported a playtest three days ago so I only lost a few days of work, but still. Fuck me.

Getting into every town in Sun/Moon and having it grind to a halt so I can talk for 20+ minutes to my rival and NPCs I don't care about was unbearable. Hours of gameplay and maybe 1/8 of it was battling/catching/grinding. If the new ones are better I'd love to hear it because good LORD it sucked.

Pokemon's right up there with Final Fantasy as "series I was deeply obsessed with through childhood/adolescence but is now unrecognizable by comparison". I played gen 1-3 a thousand times over but tried playing Sun/Moon and the dialogue to gameplay ratio is just absurd. Did that get better?
