When the Museum is Closed, Emi Yagi. I loved the concept - a woman is hired as a curator to talk to an ancient statue. Lots of interesting threads and character background/development is setup and before they can be resolved the story turns abruptly and then ends, like this review. 💙📚

Incidentally, this is the first time I've read anything (Audition and Flashlight) from the Booker Prize long or shortlist before they were announced, and I read both on recommendations from Bookfinity. Not sponsored, just really really love that bookish resource!
