Armenians who survived the Turkish genocide and settled in Palestine were displaced again when the State of Israel was founded. I hope the recognition of a Palestinian State will also protect the Armenian Quarter in Jerusalem which is under extreme pressure from Israeli ultranationalists.
21.09.2025 12:20 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0No itโs not. Itโs a common misconception. Luther attacks the misuse of indulgence, not indulgence itself and not the pope either. Itโs the hero cult of the 19th century that popularised and dramaticised the event. Itโs not even clear if it happened at all. Luther never mentions it.
31.08.2025 11:04 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I like the term Lutheran-catholic since Lutheranism wanted to reform the โold catholic faithโ (Brunswick Church order from 1569) and purify it from some Roman novelties they deemed contrary to old catholic faith, particularly expressed by patristic theologians.
31.08.2025 10:56 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Many Protestant theologians think they debunk Aquinas when, in fact, they address Neothomist ideas โ for instance the infamous โtwo-storey modelโ of nature and grace.
Rรฉginald Garrigou-Lagrange, a central figure of Neothomism, could be an eye opener for Protestant polemics.

The eye of Sauron and an astronaut in a 14th century Armenian manuscript.
These are probably pen trials to check the freshly cut pen, nevertheless the shapes are extraordinarily unusual.

SkyNews reported earlier that it affects 20 players in regional leagues (or whatever, sorry, no football person) in the whole of England. So far, there have never been any reports of issues. It solves a non-existent problem but destroys something precious for the teams affected.

At least the headings are Armenian. The main heading says โour most glorious king shall liveโ (or โlong live our most glorious kingโ).
And the next heading says โthe glory of the constitutionโ.

Nativity scene: Joseph in the centre in red and golden clothes, big figure, slightly bent to feed the ass and hovering over baby Jesus while a pale Mary blends into the background of the old and damaged temple
A Lutheran depiction of Christmas: Joseph, colourfully placed in the centre and feeding the ass, dominates the scene as the example of the Protestant pater familias who provides for his family and household

The prayers give thanks for the protection of mother and child during birth. But, since mothers and babies often died during or after birth, there are also prayers for these cases.
This custom was the anchor in peoples' everyday lives for the celebration of Candlemas in Lutheran churches. /3
Then the priest addresses the woman with her child: 'Dear friend' โ not 'sister' or 'congregation' as usual. Never before have I found this address in an official church ordinance from the past.
The little service continues with Psalm 137, prayers, and the blessing of the child or children. /2
Thanksgiving of a woman on her first visit to church after lying in childbed ('puerpera'):
'The puerpera, when she goes to church, shall come with her female friends and neighbours to the altar and bring her little child; there, the vicar shall remind her to give thanks and to pray.' /1
