Yeah, I’m very protective of my 80s music and generally hate hearing it in any contemporary product. But The Americans just nailed it every time.

Has anyone ever studied the Republican Smirk?

I’m generally not a fan of trying to divine meaning from facial expressions β€” but seriously, what’s with the ubiquity of that distinctive smirk, going back at least to Gingrich?

"Third, and relatedly, is the bizarre idea that educators should reform their jobs to evaluating the veracity of AI/LLM outputs – essentially being a glorified Turing Test?"

YES! I'm so tired of being told that's the solution.

But the seat is within reach in a great Democratic year, especially if Paxton gets the nom. That's why I don't want any surprises on our side.

I agree it's a dumb scandal that might even help. But, I don't know - this guy's meteoric rise and viral marketing is pinging my Milkshake Duck radar.

I get why millennials are crying over this. But think about how I feel - I was alive during the reference year.

I'm not happy about what Democrats are doing. But one argument for it is that they are not dealing with a normal negotiating partner but rather someone with no understanding that his position is unpopular and who is willing to inflict pain on ordinary people in order to win.

"Fight fight fight!" Yeah, I get it. But your theory of the case goes something like:

1) "Fight! Don't cave!"
2) "FIGHT! DON'T CAVE!"
3) ????
4) Victory!

I'd love to hear a story that at least tries to account for Democrats' structural constraints.

But did you fall for the β€œmaybe it’ll be better the second time” thing? I. . .may or may not have.

Correct. Also, flight crews are drawn randomly from each local population, so delays at the hubs never affect the spokes.

I went to concerts alone throughout my twenties. I ended up meeting my wife at one of them.

Back Down to Earth, by Kathleen Brady Ross track by Kathleen Brady Ross

Amazing day for new music yesterday. The Charlatans released their first album in 8 years, and it's their best in 25 years.

And my favorite singer/songwriter/producer put out this gorgeous harmonic soundscape.

For reasons that were never made clear to me, we called my father's colleague/co-author "Uncle" when he came over to our house to write. I hope that doesn't haunt my political future.

As little kids, my brother and I called our dad's textbook co-author "Uncle" for some reason.

Excellent analysis. I'd love to hear a sober assessment, though, of the odds that a SC majority will take a "literal meaning" read and ok the loophole.
