Stardew's social side has been its weakest point for ages and for me its the most important part of these games. Its why I come to them. It's why I loathe Stardew and have been drowning in Mistria.

Take the little victories when you can get them. Dont beat yourself up, feel good about it. Thats how you form the habit. If you guilt yourself over it you'll just struggle to get started next time. Good work today.

I had beaten the game, gotten all the endings and was just cleaning some odds and ends up when the patch got announced. I dont even know if I wanna go back now. Completely killed my desire to even engage with the game.

Most of the upgrades are shoved into small hidden sections or locked behind some of the harder optional challenges in the game. They want you to work to get stronger.

Might be to late but good advice for next time or any other all you can eat settings. Eat a light but high protein breakfast in the morning. This will get your metabolism going early and hot. If you skip lunch you will be empty and ravenous for dinner. Also will aid in your digestion.
