A cartoon made in response to an Elon Musk tweet that reads βWhoever said βmoney canβt buy happinessβ really knew what they were talking about πβ The black and white cartoon shows Musk standing against the wind. There is a distant expression on his face and a single tear being blown from his left eye. He wraps his arms around himself, trying to keep warm. The world is so cruel to him. Punishing him for the meagre crime of hoarding massive amounts of wealth and showing no empathy for the vulnerable. Also, he uses his platform to boost racism, misogyny, and white supremacy but seriously guys who would hold that against a fella? Next to him a caption reads βBeing a shit person is ruining my lifeβ

The adventures of Spanish journalists in Ukraine
These journalists will have quite a story to tell back home. Watching it from afar on your phone is one thing, but experiencing it with your whole heart in Ukraine, while risking a life you undoubtedly value, is quite another.
I've spent *weeks* working on this special report for @thenewworldmag.bsky.social on GB News co-owner Paul Marshall β and the astonishing, unprecedented influence network he's built on the UK's right. There's never been anything like it before. www.thenewworld.co.uk/james-ball-p...

In cities, street space is a really scarce (and under-valued) commodity. Increasing vehicle size costs everyone.
And vehicle weight determines your impact on the wear-and-tear of cities.
So this kind of public policy is really just common sense.
On Sunday, #ZΓΌrich residents voted 52.8% in favor of increasing parking fees for cars according to weight.
The owner of a BMW X2 (Diesel), which weighs 1,675 kilograms, will now pay equivalent of β¬717 Euros per year to park on a public street. (Before, about β¬321.)

Has Anyone Ever Escaped From Hull Prison?
There have been well-known and notorious inmates, but our jail absconder correspondent @angusyoung61.bsky.social finds out if anyone actually made it over the wall.

A group of handdrawn fish.
Why I 𧑠the web.

Just draw the fish. Trust me. π
You did a great job π
Looks superb
I've got roughly 2 more days left before I'm back at work.. πΆ
Too much work left to do π
I think I'll get the walls, flooring & radiator done but the cupboard will have to wait
I've got waterproof Bluetooth speakers to fit in it π
I need to sing while in the shower
Two walls are going to be white plastic panels, similar to the ceiling. The radiator wall is going to be painted, Diana decided on a similar green to the panels. I'll be painting it tomorrow before fitting the radiator. I like that colour you did the last bathroom..

After 13 days of using the dog salon tonight was the first time in the new improved shower πΆπ₯°
I've just got to fit the walls, floor, new radiator, toilet and basin before it's finished...
π
It's just annoying π
It just means another day or two that I need to add to the build as well as clearing the kitchen (too much crap in that area!)
Yay π
Found out why there was always a bad smell from the bath waste regardless of how many times I cleaned it
The previous owners made this waste pipe go uphill πππ
I'll add "remove kitchen ceiling too replace waste pipe" to the list of jobs....
ππππππ«
Bathroom update..
Pipes & wires sorted out and clipped to the wall.
They were in a right mess π
They'll be behind a false wall inside a cupboard
Tomorrow is plastering, fitting waste pipes, ceiling lights & maybe the first ceiling panels
I'm thinking of either fitting a seat, or making sure there's a secure mounting to take a seat in the future if (*when) I decide to fit one..
π«
The bath is going, just a shower from now on, the side of the bath was becoming too high to get in/out & neither of us have had a bath in years
A very low height shower tray (45mm) is going in..
Much easier on my back
I'm having to shower in the dog salon at the mo π« πππ
Guess what I'm doing for my 2 week holiday...
