I prefer my news media to report what happens, not what their opinion is on how to call it. Restraint is a great good for news media. The fact that some are completely lacking it, shouldn't require the rest to follow suit. When opinion becomes the news (as on social media), we're all doomed to Fox.

The problem is that people want "the other channels" to take a biased position opposite Trump. When you compare a propaganda channel to a decent news channel, it seems the news channel is not diametrically opposed to the propaganda. Which is correct, but feels lacking the pushback people want to see

Otherwise we end up with more Fox channels that will just spout whatever pleases the crowd and gets in the money.

Good media report what they can confirm through different sources. Many people are asking for condemnation of anything Trump-related, with or without underlying facts. Media cannot and should not take position if they don't have sufficient underlying facts. Despite the underwhelming feel it gives.

Many Germans had moral objections against the Nazi regime and their actions. But they felt powerless to do something and accepted the idea that it may pass without affecting their family personally. Fast-forward to USA 2025, and guess what...?
