Fonda announced the revival of the organization, initially founded by her father, Henry Fonda. The organization was founded in the 1940s to defend free speech against fascism.

Nope. My friend just wanted to tell him how much he loved his work but apparently (even at a private event thrown by the company we worked for) that was a line too far for him. Oh well. Not everyone could be as gracious and warm as Jane Goodall.

I feel the same but because of my work I’ve got to meet so many people I admire and am sometimes in awe of, and almost every one I got to talk with was genuine and kind and seemed to be truly appreciative of whatever I said to them.

I worked at the zoo here for a short time and she came to promote Roots & Shoots and I got to attend the event. She was so lovely and brilliant. I’ve followed her for so many years. I hope her work continues through everyone she inspired. 🌱

Just to note. January 23, 2019 there was a vote to reopen government (HJ RES 28, roll call vote 46) when the govt had been shut down for 30 days.

Mike Johnson voted “no” on that.
