Freddie has made excellent progress over the past couple of days. He’s come out of his shell and is incredibly fussy now. Still a long way to go but it’s so lovely seeing him relaxing and purring.

He’s not the best at hiding.

We picked up our cat Freddie today and he such a sweet boy. No pictures from me so far, his best hiding spot is behind the curtain. He’s so brave exploring already.

I love you too. I can’t wait to get our anxious little guy home.

I’m always so impressed by everyone’s pumpkin designs, they are so detailed. Me, I like a little guy. This years little guy was particularly cute:

I’ve ended up on Día de los Muertos side of TikTok and it’s so beautiful and moving learning about the traditions and beliefs. I was mostly keeping it together until I saw the ofrenda for pets on the first night and then I was a blubbering mess.

That sounds like an excellent day out. I came across this the other day, the oldest non-clonal animal, 507 year old clam. Breaks my brain to think how long that actually is.

It’s been so lovely seeing people celebrates 30 years of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. I got a bit emotional knowing it had such big effect on other people. Smashing Pumpkins got me through a lot growing up and it’s nice to know I wasn’t alone.

I’m replaying this for the first time in a decade on the Xbox One and it’s so much fun. I’m surprised how well the game play has aged.

CW: Food

Had my first attempt at making Moussaka tonight. We had it on holiday and it’s no where near as good as that but it wasn’t bad. It’s a bit of a marathon. Anyone have any good recipes for this dish? I bet it’s got endless variations.

Managed to get through my meetings today only for the flu to take me the second I stepped out of the office. I think tomorrow is going to be a sick day spent in bed. Send cats.

I’ll ask our chief scientist what he’d recommend. I’m slightly odd in this world in that I learned these concepts at the point of applying it to organisations rather than studying philosophy.

If you ever want to go into detail on it let me know, this is what I spend my days explaining to clients. Think of them as logical tools to structure your understanding of the things in reality you perceive.

Both classify the individual things, physical and conceptual, in the philosophers reality. Taxonomy is typically mono hierarchical way of classifying things from broadest to narrower classes. Ontology is poly hierarchical and defines classes using rules called axioms.

After weeks of preparing, repairing and painting the first version of the conservatory dining room is finished. I’m super proud we’ve managed to finish the first room and finally have a cosy place to eat dinner. On to the next room…

I know what I saw!

I should note I’m halfway through and the game has yet to explain what on earth is going on with these, I better get an answer by the end.

I’m currently playing a post apocalyptic sci-fi game called ‘Enslaved: Journey to the West’ and it has these ‘glitches’ which show the past (I think?) The weird part is there all stills of Andy Serkis just doing everyday things, including one where he’s in a bathrobe?

Watching Yellowjackets Season 2 and I’d forgotten how gruesome this show can be. I’m also not surprised at all to see Elijah Wood turn up.

Back from Kos yesterday and I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to cope being back in reality. I don’t think I’ve ever actually been that relaxed in my whole life. Still lovely to have a new baseline for relaxation.

When you get pulled on to the dance floor and you realise your legs are drunker then your head.

We got some absolutely stunning views flying last night. Everyone is so casual on the plane and I’m just transfixed by the view.

I just opened Spotify and typed in LinkedIn instead of Linkin Park. Clearly I need a holiday.
