and perhaps it was naive of me but i had absolutely no concerns about mensah going in. the casting was excellent and clearly she is the heart of preservation!!! and they still messed that up somehow. something something men always finding their way underneath the lowest bar

the throuple thing has pmo since they teased it in that prerelease interview bc god forbid any story not have a romance subplot. then they had the gall to make it terrible which is kind of incredibly incompetent seeing how i could prob be convinced of almost any presaux combo. and they fumbled it.

haha no youre fine i love to read crit and agree with all points. i havent interacted even a bit with the fandom but im not surprised 😮‍💨 i always hope that a high women/men ratio means more women appreciation but it never does.

all the "just think of it as fanfiction!!!" arguments make me laugh tho bc like there is a lot of dogshit fic out there that i talk shit on just as much so what kind of defense is that??? haha

in the end im happy for m.wells to get the kind of recognition she's deserved for decades and the show was...watchable. but it feels made for "oo robot" people and not those who appreciated the heavy women/minority gender/LGBT focus of the novellas.

yeah its def dissonant to me. it feels like the showrunners assumed that the existing fanbase would just be grateful to get anything so they could tone down the diversity and re-angle to target the stereotypical "sff guy" audience and IT BAFFLES!!

Joonghyuk leans in closer behind Sooyoung and nudges the hood of her jacket down to expose her neck, eyes burning with desire as his lips hover over her nape. 3. Sooyoung breaks away from the kiss with Dokja and looks to Joonghyuk with a grin as she shrugs her jacket off and exposes her neck and shoulders fully, wearing only a thin striped camisole beneath. Joonghyuk hungrily grins back. Dokja meanwhile simply smiles sweetly at the two as he scratches at the corner of his lips, which have a bit of Sooyoung's lipstick smudged on them. 4. The two press closer against Sooyoung. Joonghyuk moves in, eyes closed, biting and licking Sooyoung's nape. Joonghyuk is cradling her neck and jaw with his hand and tilting her head back, exposing the front of her neck to Dokja as well. Dokja moves in under Sooyoung's neck to kiss Joonghyuk's hand on it, and rests his own hand casually on one of her breasts. Dokja looks to her with reverence. Sooyoung's lips are softly open in pleasure.

His eyes are closed, his hands folded on his chest, above his head is a cracked black star, symbol of being a constellation. On both sides of him are two silhouettes made out of dotted lines with schematic scissors- two holes cut out in the foggy background. In places where silhouettes' head would be there are two symbols of the ending - two squares. Above their heads are white stars.

An alternative version of the previous art, but now Kim Dokja's silhouette is cut out of the coffin with a dotted line. The silhouettes on the sides are now filled in, they belong to Yoo Joonghyuk and Han Sooyoung. Both of them are on their knees, crawling from behind the coffin, with their faces hidden behind their hands. All about them screams desperation and mourning. Now the only visible ending symbol sits where Kim Dokja's heart would be.

"Sometimes, when i look at your peaceful, sleeping face..." Kim Dokja's hospital ward from the epilogue, light and empty. It's space is broken up by frames of Yoo Sangah entering it at a different, later time in the day - her surroundings are dark.

"I wonder if you felt claustrophobic..." Yoo Sangah's hand is gently caressing Kim Dokja's crumbling, sleeping face. On the opposite side of her hand, he is caged up by many books. Under them, overwhelmed by the word "claustrophobic" in huge font, is Kim Dokja's young, small figure.

"In mother's gift" Young Kim Dokja, surrounded by deep black space. A single hand is emerging from above, taking a glowing knife from his hands.

"A generously painted lack of sin" Two bloodied palms are being cradled by another pair of hands, yet unbloodied.

"Was then our world's end just a new beginning" It's a scene from right before the first scenario, of Kim Dokja and Yoo Sangah on the train. Kim Dokja's face is hidden behind a shadow with only one of his eyes visible. He seems to be smiling, nervous and excited to an unhealthy degree. Behind him, Yoo Sangah seems shocked and worried by the way he acts.

"Or were you aching for a newer cage" Yoo Sangah is watching Kim Dokja's back, who, in turn, is watching Yoo Joonghyuk's starry silhouette.

"The one displaying all your crimes in public" A closer portrait of Yoo Joonghyuk. He seems hostile, with his curly bangs hiding part of his face. Above his head there are many bleeding black stars, combining into a black mass right above him.

"The one that left all those around you with no choice" A similar composition of Kim Dokja looking at the viewer as an Enemy of the story. He seems joyful and excited, his hands wide in a theatrical gesture, but his bones broken by the snaking up outer god's appendages.

"But think of you as something cruel, evil" He is now almost entirely consumed by those appendages, still smiling happily - a single white spot in the black mass.

"Or, maybe, you just wanted" Several frames of visitors at Kim Dokja's ward. On the left is Han Sooyoung, on the right - Yoo Joonghyuk, both looking down, dejected. Between them is Yoo Sangah opening a book with an empty expression.

"To have a single reader for yourself". She starts reading now, casting light over Kim Dokja's body instead of a shade.

"Aware of the crimes you have committed". Her hand rests on the book's page. Between the pages, acting as a bookmarl, is a shining white knife. The page where the text sits, is bloody.

"Yet loving you despite your lack of grace". Yop Sangah is throwing her hands around surprised Kim Dokja after hopping timelines.

"Alas, you never found out" At the bottom of the page there is Kim Dokja's back. He is in his Demon king of salvation transformation with his black wings spread wide. Above him, upside down there are many frames of his companions remembering him. There is Han Sooyoung holding a lollipop, Jung Heewon talking to Uriel about something, the kids watching a little squid swimming in a tank, Yoo Sangah walking along the bookcases, Lee Hyunsung looking at a bullet shell and Yoo Joonghyuk asking Kim Dokja to go back to Earth.

"That you were loved as just a liar in distress". A composition similar to the previous page, but now on the bottom is Han Sooyoung with her legs crossed, sitting on the floor next to piles of filled pages, writing. Behind her back there is Yoo Joonghyuk hugging a space helmet, looking up, at the top of the page. There, above them, is a little white window in the starry sky. That is a window into the train, showing a head with horns - Kim Dokja's head.
