I deleted my FB right after the election. The only Meta product I actively use is Second Life, and I just have a free account.

The best thing we can do is cut streaming services, as pretty much all of them use Amazon Web Services. Cut what you can. Consume less, and enjoy life more. I have a good quality HD antenna, so that can make it easier. If your library offers Hoopla or Kanopy credits, use them.

The years I served in AmeriCorps were some of the most meaningful in my life… and it helped me pay for college. Furthermore, it is through service where you form some of your closest friendships. It is exactly the balm we need in this era of isolation!

On the topic of boycotting… Amazon Web Services is a much bigger generator of profit for Bezos than the retail arm (the store). You would make more of an impact by unsubscribing from your streaming services (pretty much all of them) and investing in a good HD antenna

My deepest regret is that I did not take Spanish when it was offered from grade 5 on. What an opportunity! But even without taking classes in Spanish, how could you not pick up some of the language… especially if you are Catholic! The great white hype over not knowing Spanish… just embarrassing

I am rather skeptical of the recall of products coming from Gold Star Distribution in Minneapolis. The FDA telling people to throw out a wide range of products sold in a region being targeted by federal thugs seems like a way to lure people out of their homes…
