May 22nd 2023 - Chas Newby, who enjoyed a two-week stint as The Beatles' bassist in 1960, passed away at the age of 81. A then 19-year-old Newby joined the band in December, 1960 after they returned to Liverpool from Germany and needed a bassist, as Stuart Sutcliffe decided to remain in Hamburg.
