Journalists taking Trump at face value are too gullible for words Gullible journalism helped Trump turn Project 2025 into a living nightmare for America.

Before the election when Democrats tried to warn voters Trump would implement Project 2025, mainstream journalists helped Trump pour water on these warnings, even criticising Dems for highlighting it. Now, Trump admits Project 2025 is his agenda. My analysis:

Our mega rich are inflaming selves & their tools to make us hate each other. They depict anyone not in their chosen identity (โ€œChristianโ€ โ€œWhiteโ€ rightwing) as a subversive, violent Other. Thatโ€™s a path to bloodshed.
How are we going to limit the hate?

All the far right wing ties Australia has with USA (I am sure this includes gov influencing corporate ties, religious ties, government insider ties, Rinehart ties, think tanks ties, ex gov member ties, business ties). Aus will never see daylight with LNP in power. @australianlabor.bsky.social

Andrew Hastie: soldier for an extreme version of governing by Christ
Andrew Hastie is a more extreme Fundamentalist Christian than Scott
Morrison. Australians cannot let his attempts to lead the nation go unchallenged. His place on the ARC Board is a warning.

Andrew Hastie is on the Board of the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship ๐Ÿคก with Tony Abbott & John Howard. You canโ€™t afford to miss the dangerous implications of that international networking for climate, freedom & rights, militarism, Islamophobia. #auspol

Mind-numbing sleep-woking
The word 'woke' is tiresome. More though, it's a clichรฉ that terminates our ability to debate. In Australian civic discourse, and internationally, the word is used to demarcate lines of battle. In 2025, Australian politicians are hoping it can turn a motley coalition of voters into the government's base.

Woke emerged as a concept in US Black culture in the 1920s to signal people who were aware of how the system trapped them in disadvantage. Later, progressives borrowed (stole?) the label to celebrate that awareness more broadly, with regard to varied subjects like human rights for minorities, women, workers and refugees. By 2020, the term had become established as the right's latest slur for the 'politically correct.

Re Andrew Hastie
Since the creeps at Melbourne University are shutting down Meanjin, I am bringing my essay out from the paywall. Itโ€™s on how โ€œChristianโ€ is being used to bring together a ratty coalition against โ€œwokeโ€ , here at ARC, Hastie on that Board. #auspol
