I’m sure the Steve Tandy announcement by the WRU this morning was not an attempt to distract from the ‘U20s behaving badly’ news

Unlike some supporters, I’m happy to give Tandy the benefit of the doubt and wish him well. Is it an underwhelming appointment? Yes but that’s where Welsh rugby is right now.

Instead of cutting a team or two, let’s cut the WRU.

WRU considers cutting up to two regional teams The Welsh Rugby Union says it could cut as many as two of Wales' four regional teams as it looks to reduce costs and consolidate playing talent.

This is pretty significant. This is the first time the WRU have publicly acknowledged a reduction to three or two professional clubs is being seriously considered.

It’s seems inevitable now that we will lose a pro team. Possibly two.
