I would really like for “religion” to be less “What weird and unprovable things do you believe and what arbitrary rules do you follow (or worse, expect everyone else to follow)?” and more “What practices, experiences, and stories help give your life meaning and help you to grow as a person?"

We are below the bottom of the photo, and there’s a lot of mountainous mountain between us and the Hughes fire. But we are packed up and ready, if we get a notice to evacuate. We have a place to go, so…fingers crossed the winds die down.

I haven’t been here in a while. So far, January is a shitshow. The winds are high again in the Los Angeles area. I’m going to write. Not let anything steal my joy.

This coming year is going to be one of re-prioritizing my life. Letting go of an old narrative that I've been keeping front and center, but no longer applies. And I'll be doing a lot less travel, to boot. What about you? What is your theme for 2025?

Quick update - the book signings in Olympia went wonderfully! I had such a good time at each one, and in between I got to spend time with my dear friends Amber and Jaymi.
