I have a flag that says “Respect the Locals!” Some days that means planting native plants for pollinators & some days it means extracting the same stubborn ass rat snake from the chicken coop yet again, & releasing her into half a mile, one creek, and a road away in hopes she’ll move on this time.

I wanted hinge pin heads but couldn’t find any that fit the vibe of my library, so I’m making them from 1/12 scale doll house birds.
Not bad for $5 and a little bit of time. Especially since I need 12 of them! 😅

I get really pissed off when I remember we were charged $3k for this “dry creek” installation in 2023.
Asked for a “natural looking dry creek utilizing existing drainage areas with a mix of large and small rocks”

They set that price & I should have known what I was gonna get based on that.

Explored my big dirty city from a new angle this week. Kayaking buffalo bayou in #houston was something I’d never thought I’d do. (Native Houstonians, iykyk why.) But it was honestly really cool and fun! Just… still ran home to shower immediately, lol
