Sepsis survivor with CKD & disabilities. Neurodiverse. Studying with the OU and taking all things space and tech to young people through schools, clubs, etc. and stupid enough to let them loose on £20k worth of Astro gear for fun! Crazy. Just.Look.Up.UK!

These are the same Americans who think you need a passport to go to another state.

I guess it depends how tech savvy you are. I would create USB Key with a bootable version of KNOPPIX which will allow you to image your laptop disk while not in use using gpartd which can image your entire pc to another storage device. I did this when upgrading my disk to a 2TB model.

I do a fun talk with students on this and then do a practical game called "save the dinosaurs". The students are amazed to find out that "Planetary Defender" is a real job!

I prefer "change a corporate slogan slightly to make it more accurate":

Tesco: Very Little Help
Ford: Everything we do is drivel
Pringles: Once you poop you can't stop
Peperami: Guess which bit is an animal
Andrex: Soft, strong, and doesn't last long.

Come on BlueSky, do your thing!

I would love to go into those churches with my wife and see if they notice my Apple Watch has a "Pride" strap. I'm not gay, I wear it because I'm not a closed minded bigot. Although I would probably use the word "Pharisee" to their faces and see if they get the reference.

Is this Trump's version of the Trojan horse? A hospital ship staffed by Special Forces. I imagine the Danes will refuse access to territorial waters.

Didn't roughly the same words put the final nail in the coffin of Nixon's political career?

I get asked that a lot by pupils. My answer: Imagine you are made of Lego. You probably need over 1000000 bricks. Well we have found quite a few of those bricks but are still missing most of them, plus we have no building instructions. But we will never stop looking for more because we are curious.

Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson has passed away at the age of 84. My thoughts are with his family.

I wanted to share this clip from his appearance on Sesame Street in 1971. His important words ring just as true today as they did back then.

Are such "stacks" easily available? If so tell me how to get a large one I can use in my prize bags for school pupils.

We have a budget eufy one ground floor only as all hardwood floor and it does a nice job and can even mop the floor with a cleaning pad attachment. I wouldn't go high-end as I think the law of diminishing returns is strong.

We're glad we got it even though we were sceptical.

This is true in tech though it is not always about progress: 20+ years ago my colleagues and I were in a bar discussing the latest version of our high performance, high resilience data storage system and someone joked about it being virtually bullet proof.

The rest is history:

For those unaware, Space has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years.
The mission of SpaceX remains the same: extend consciousness and life as we know it to the stars.
It is only possible to travel to Mars when the planets align every 26 months (six month trip time), whereas we can launch to the Moon every 10 days (2 day trip time). This means we can iterate much faster to complete a Moon city than a Mars city.
That said, SpaceX will also strive to build a Mars city and begin doing so in about 5 to 7 years, but the overriding priority is securing the future of civilization and the Moon is faster.”
