My schedule for Ret-Con. 6 panels full of geeky, writerly wonderfulness.

I'm starting my weekend early this time--took the day off so I could get to my convention this afternoon without being pre-frazzled by a day of serving the capitalistic machine. Gotta say it feels good. How's your weekend looking?

Thanks for another great #HorrorWritersChat!

If anyone's interested, all this month I'm running a showcase for morbid art and fiction and their inspirations. There are daily prompts and weekly chat questions, and writers are very much encouraged to use both to self-promote.

Hello again horror writers! I'm E. D. Jones, and I write weird and cosmic horror, along with other stuff.

The natural world features heavily in my horror. Dramatic coastal landscapes used for grotesque cult rituals. Forests that consume. Fungus that hunts. #horrorwriterschat

So hiiiiii, I am Eryn, I'm one of the co-hosts for #HorrorWritersChat, I write supernatural and psychological horror, and for me, it's always fucking forests.

Hola, #HorrorWritersChat! I'm Paul Jessup, and I write surreal, creepy, and fantastic horror. The natural world that creeps in is fungal and strange, mossy and bloodied, and maggot ridden

My least favorite is "foolish victim" especially if the character already marginalized. Really plays into blaming the victim. So I try to let my characters show intelligence and competence. Sometimes that saves them and sometimes it doesn't--it is horror after all. #HorrorWritersChat

When I write body horror, I know I'm dealing with a lifetime of medical gaslighting and feeling like my body is betraying me. It helps me channel some of the anger. #HorrorWritersChat

The unnamed narrator in my Sapphic horror story, I Should Have Known, originated when I ran across an image of two women in Victorian clothes holding hands and smiling at each other. I hope it ended better for those real women than it did for my characters. #HorrorWritersChat
