I’m sad to see this news. He was the first consultant psychiatrist I came across as a student who made sense to me & didn’t seem madder than the patients. Gave me hope.

Ever since I learned wood anemones spread just 6 feet in 100 years, I’ve been more impressed by the starry carpet in my local woods. It’s low impact, but long lasting πŸ€”

☺️ I’m looking forward to this great opportunity to talk with Emma about my book. I wrote Rest-Do days about living with fatigue and how to get things done. Hope you can listen in at around 6pm.

Last Friday I finished reading Property @rowanmoore.bsky.social It has changed how I think about my home, houses around me, village church, local shop, struggles of my family & so many others, and how I read the news. Possession, when compared with property, informs alienation & belonging.

And what people can do there?

Saw my respiratory consultant a week before lockdown. So much was unknown. He was puzzled about the lack of interest in masks. Thought the virus would give me trouble. I’m tired of current media focus: like others have said, mostly written by people not on the frontline or shielding.

Had wonderful stroll with friend today, discussing seasonal nature of resting & doing. Some days it’s impossible to resist overdoing it, important when it’s in a lovely place like a wood in spring.

I think wait to see what they actually are voting on. I would welcome more support to get young people into work, and employer incentives to take them on which were systematically dismantled from 2010 onwards.

Who is this man? And why did my dad make this portrait? Who do we choose to pay attention to?
Every time I come here I unfollow some more people, slowly I’ll get space to find posts that add something to my day.

Back at the hospital this week. X-ray dept had a makeover, felt hallucinogenic, too distracting to rest. Fortunately not there long.

Rest-do days never stop 😁 I’m recording an interview about my book today. Looking forward to talking with Maria McCann for WLR FM radio. It’s always interesting to answer questions about rest-do days.

The politics of division: Why we blame the wrong people - Transforming Society Peter Beresford explores how neoliberal politics fuel division by scapegoating marginalised groups while benefiting the wealthy, urging a new inclusive approach to social justice.

Thank you. The stuff that’s being dripped into my vein all day today may look like water, but it’s a life saving drug. I’m alive to support my mum as she gets to grips with life without Dad & his Alzheimer’s, among many other things

Radical change in the East: understanding the Reformers The East of England is a Reform UK stronghold, with three of their five MPs. Perhaps we should know who they are, and what they are doing

Today is a hospital day for me. I wonder how long I’d survive without the NHS. No private provider will touch me even for the most minor procedure because I’m too risky. US style anything sounds scary. Surely Reform must be losing its appeal? eastangliabylines.co.uk/politics/rad...
