It somehow, surprisingly, did not make me a furry, though. Trust me, I have tried. I had a snow leopard femboy named snowball and it was the closest I could get but I never found anything that spoke to me.
It was basically my sandbox to experiment with styles and personalities before real life.

It was also the first sex-positive environment I had ever been in, where I developed and grew accepting of kinks, and other cultures, and where I made a lot of friends, subs, and ultimately my current and forever partner.

Hidden tenth spot: Second Life (didn't come up when I searched it so you get a 10th spot. Also #progposting) -
SL was a lot of things for me. It was the first time I presented entirely as female, and this was a decade before I was trans. I didn't want a male avatar because they all looked gross.

Dwarf Fortress -
Dwarf Fortress taught me that life is unfair and out of your control, that you do things anyway even when you know the result is failure, if only because you want to do it, and that you can't make someone happy if they choose not to be.
It is also where SoberDwarf came from.

God Hand -
Before God Gand, I hated hard games because I never felt good at them (it was rare I played a game without cheats).
God Hand was brutally hard but also extremely fair. It gave me a love for difficult games and the ability to beat my head against the wall until I gave or the wall did.

Princess Maker 2 -
As silly as it is, I think this game, of all games, made me trans. I imprinted on the Princess so hard wishing I had their life.
I spent months playing this game kinda realizing just the infinite possibilities and how subtle choices made an almost entirely different 'story'.

Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest -
FFMQ was the first game I can recall that I had beaten all by myself barring Guerilla War). I remember staring at the end screen in near disbelief for at least 10 minutes (which is like an hour when you are 8).
It kindled my love of RPGs and game design.

Bushido Blade -
This small sword fighting game got me into a huge cultural dive into feudal Japan (despite the game itself taking place in the modern era), which led me to Kurosawa films, L5R, Nobunaga's Ambition, and pretty much all my favorite things.

Metal Gear Solid 3 -
MGS3 was the first game that legitimately made me question the world I was told about. I never experienced a game that managed putting you in the shoes of the protagonist and made his experiences yours.
I will literally cry at the ending, every time.

Final Fantasy Tactics -
If VII subtly influenced my beliefs, Tactics gut punched them and told me to blame myself or god.
Themes of betrayal, religion as manipulation, class war and moral resolve, FFT is one of those games that I constantly see reflected in the world and how I navigate it.

Final Fantasy XI -
As an extremely sheltered kid who was pretty much not allowed to interact with people outside of school, XI was my first real experience not just socializing, but being an active part of a community.
To say this fame changed my life would be an understatement.

Final Fantasy VII -
Themes of anti-capitalism, environmentalism, identity and loss were a very subtle but prominent influence on my beliefs, and the crossdressing scene undoubtedly awakened something inside that would bubble up to the surface years later.

And I do want advice primarily from other agoraphobics. I already know all the CBT things I *should* do, but I rather have some practical, pragmatic advice.

Like, I have nothing I *want* to do outside my nest. There aren't any events I want to go to. I don't know anybody here to hang out with. I barely speak the language so there isn't anything for me to do, so I mostly just stay home, which has been making it harder when I need to go out.

Fellow agoraphobics, how do you manage to motivate yourself to get out and do things when you don't *have* to do them?
I've been homebound for the past several years, and I do pretty well at managing things like going to the store when I need something, but I can't when I don't have wind behind me.

Everyone is different because hormones effect people differently, but generally, I get more irritable, more easily stressed out, which then triggers a cascade effect of all the other things stressing me out piling on, and then that triggers a heavy disassociation episode.

A scan from a scan of the self-published manga, with four anime gals with designs representing PS1, Saturn, Dreamcast, and N64. The PS1 giril, a spiky redhead with a PS1 themed bodysuit and sleek pauldrons like a transforming robo-suit stands off to one side and behind the fanned out Saturn blue-haired catgirl, a lamb-like elfish DC girl with doe eyes and a blep, and the serious looking grey-haired tomboyish N64.

Everyone who tried to draw around me and started drawing LOVED it at the beginning because of their QUICK IMPROVEMENT. Then quit when they hit The Wallβ’οΈ.
But it's when you hit The Wallβ’οΈ that you NEED to push through with practice!! And you gotta do it for yourself, because it's ALWAYS worth it! π€

I remember specifically when working on my Dreamfactory video, there were several articles stating that the FFVII Remaster was worked on in 2005, and they would cite articles that cited other articles that would cite that EGM, and then it'd be there which basically meant it was sourceless.

When I was doing research for my documentaries, this would almost always be the case when dealing with factoids. It was especially heinous because the source would be from like, the Quarterman (basically just a persona made to disperse rumors) would just make stuff up and it's still being cited.
