So many distractions & legal proceedings today. More propaganda & fake news from the White House & others. How do you keep up? It’s too overwhelming to know what to post, so I’m mainly replying to other people‘s posts. Not that anybody ever sees my posts, so BlueSky is mainly informational for me.

I understand that it’s against military uniform code to applaud any political statements. There seemed to be a lot of applause today at Trump‘s Navy “rally.” I wonder if anybody will talk to those in uniform?

Hegseth is firing of military personnel after his big meeting last week. Jon Harrison, appointed by Trump in 2021 to be the Chief of Staff to the Secretary of the Navy, is now out. No reason given at this time. (Politico) More firings to come, apparently.

I hope Democrats continue to hold the line to whatever threats Trump & Vought make. There’s a lot of MAGA propaganda saying that they would make a deal if the Democrats vote to reopen. We know that’s not true and nothing will change. Trump caved in his first term shutdown, so there’s that.

Troops deployed to Oregon all because Fox News showed a 2020 video of violence during a different protest claiming it was recent. The Trump administration didn’t verify that it was false reporting. Hegseth never checked out what was happening. So all of this for no violence at all.

The thing is, Trump will have the same federal workers fired by December even if the CR is passed. He’s just saying it now for leverage. He knows it will sway some Democrats who are afraid to vote NO.

Re the Hegseth meeting: don’t forget that Hegseth first made sure that reporters are only allowed to write what the Pentagon “approves.” So unless there are credible leaks afterwards, we may never find out the actual truth, at least for awhile. We’ll get the narrative they want us to hear.

I thought it was one of the better documentaries out there. 2 1/2 hours each night really painted a full picture of not only the times and the man, but how important music is, how lyrics evolve, and so much more.

It’s nervewracking just today: Hegseth orders military officials to Virginia for a mystery meeting, and the looming government shutdown, whereby Trump will order workers to be fired and agencies disbanded if the CR doesn’t pass.
