Per an NIH source:
“Discussions with colleagues have suggested that if the universities all come together and raise hell about the delays to funding caused by not holding meetings, that might move the needle. From every state. There are well-funded universities in red states that will be impacted.”
The Damer Lab's NIH funding helps elucidate the relationship between protein-protein interactions and their role in calcium homeostasis. Because of our funding, we can better understand the molecular mechanisms of cancer biology.

I’ll start: my NIH postdoc funding helped me develop and test AI tools that could identify skin cancer across diverse skin tones.
I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.
“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.

I'd also like to share an opportunity for scientists to receive an external travel grant through Boster Biological Technology. This grant supports scientists traveling to share their work and aims to highlight work with rare model organisms (like Dictyostelium discoideum!)
