I'm begging my fellow politicians, Illinoisans, and Americans to realize that right now, we aren't fighting over policy or political party.

We're fighting over whether we're going to be a country rooted in empathy and kindness — or one rooted in cruelty and rage.

This isn't about "training issues." The murderer who executed Renee Good has been with ICE for 10 years, and according to DHS, the murderer who executed Alex Pretti has been there for 8 years.

These aren't "new recruits," or officers that can be "retrained." ICE can't be reformed. Abolish ICE.

I am not exaggerating when I say ICE functions as a terrorist organization in the Twin Cities. The goal seems to be to harass and frighten people (the ones who are lucky enough to not be abducted, at least) and it's deeply unsettling when you learn they're in your neighborhood.

Gosh, if only there were a constitutional mechanism for removing a president who is mentally ill and unfit to hold office.

It’s genuinely bizarre that people who refuse to show their face or identify themselves are demanding identification from people who are fully visible.
