21.02.2026 04:30 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0If you're not already, you should probably be reading manaka the human and the slaughter robot. It gives me early Asa/Yoru vibes, albeit in a more functional world for regular people.
It seems pretty interesting story wise- but the character writing is great imo. Easily top tier.

I will give you everything I have.

ngl- i hope this is another example of Denji knowing the right thing to do but being unable to resist his temptations and carnal desires. It'd open up space for the finale to be solidly Asa-focused, without a reliance on Denji saving her from Yoru.
21.02.2026 04:21 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I've always found chimps quite scary, so I'm surprised that this movie didn't do more for me tbh. There were tense moments, but I never wanted to cover my eyes or turn it off or anything
20.02.2026 06:56 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I watched primate, from this year
It was a pretty entertaining horror movie. The best parts were definitely the kills (of which there's an abundance) and the soundtrack. The effects are, for the most part, pretty good too. It's basically just a gory slasher but the killer is a rabid chimpanzee.
Reze boom

Barem would probably love the work of Meru from magical girl and narco wars
08.02.2026 11:30 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I finally saw predator badlands!
It's a pretty good brain off movie that gives some nice information on clan dynamics and predator technology. The creature designs are pretty good, though some I wish were more alien looking.
I'm forward to the probable sequel and return of AVP!
I watched Pluribus
Bravo Vince, you've done it again.
The ending was pretty funny, and the series, in general, was a lot more coherent than the trailer made it look. Plus, an explicitly queer protagonist is always a huge bonus. Would totally recommend it.
Weekly Manga reader memory goes back two weeks and then stops. The amount of people shitting on csm right now because this fight is ongoing is insane, for example.
It's not even been ten chapters, and there's comparisons to the finale of jjk. Which also isn't bad, but is a hell of a lot longer.
You ever think about how Cristallo has never experienced a true Lucia? Because I do. A lot.
Wanted to get this done before Christmas but got distracted but her birthday will do so HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LITTLE SWEDISH GIRL (whatโs a reverse birthday without some angst)

She didn't even fight, just immediately gave up. In the same way that Denji does at the end of the part when Pochita comes out. Except she doesn't have pochita there to help her, so she's domesticated and turned into a public safety lapdog again.
31.01.2026 08:17 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0She lives a "happy" life of ignorance
She has a lot of girlfriends (one of whom looks suspiciously like power)
She's strong as hell
And she (did) answer to nobody
I feel like showing her losing to Makima like that was a way of saying that Denji can never get the life he wants with Makima around.
People on reddit call her a groomer because of her segment in buddy stories ๐ญ
I'm still thinking about how I'd ever write out an analysis of her character in relation to denji tbh. Because she is, down to the detail, everything denji wishes he was in part 1. They even share(d) an eyepatch.
Fear of the dark

She went from my least favourite character in the manga to one of my favourites writing wise. Unreal.
I wonder what the world is like where she really was just the octopus devil playing a mimic of Asa.
Honestly, I'd accept it.
Right when Denji thinks he has nobody, the most important connection he ever formed comes to save him.
And hopefully, keep Asa away from him because those two are not healthy rn ๐ญ
I'm not dead i promise ๐ญjust low on motivation right now. I'll hopefully get at least something out for February!
31.01.2026 08:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Tolkien's grappling with the definition of evil he came to is imo (which should be taken lightly, I'm not really the biggest fan tbh) one of the most interesting parts of his writing. The unfinished sequel to lotr that would have served as a deeper look into the topic sounds very interesting.

It need not be perfect. It might need work. It might serve as practice. It might even remain unfinished.
Just create. ๐
Immediately recognized it because of Bobby Rebholdz videos. Goated creator!
27.01.2026 01:46 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0My biggest criticism is just in how some of the interesting plot lines in the first film seem to be dropped? But tbh I think they'll be picked up next movie lol, so I'm not too concerned
21.01.2026 18:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I watched 28 years later: the bone temple.
It blends pretty seamlessly with the first years film and ups the violence to an insane degree with the Jimmies.
The characters, cinematography and story were all top tier too. Plus some old man yaoi, so that's nice! I Love Dr. Kelson.
Would recommend.
I feel like it's guilt? Hence Asa's reaction once it died. Locusts are a good analogy for it. Piling up, blotting out the light, quite literally eating you away until there's nothing left.
Denji was well equipped to kill it because he chose to ignore his guilt. Whereas Asa is motivated by it.
Labour are just open fascist enablers at this point tbh- there's no saving them
