Tiny poster and Letterboxd review of Predator: Badlands 2025 that reads:
'I accidentally went to see this in 3D and still had a good time, so that's pretty impressive on its own.

We love an underdog/runt story, we love a charming little found family dynamic where everyone is very violent and defective/abandoned, we love a built world that feels like Peter Jackson's trench of evil bugs coming to maul you to death.

There was great texture and viscosity throughout, a solid score, and enough betrayal to keep you going.

To take Predator and go 'yeah, well... what if he was a bit wee and an empathetic failure with sad little eyebrows' and have it work is commendable.'

Predator: Badlands was a delightful romp, even with accidentally going to see the latest possible showing and discovering /as the movie is starting/ that it's in 3D.

One thing I was struck by in the Remembrance Day ceremony was when CBC interviewed a WW2 vet and his message was that people needed to be reminded about the cost of war so that we wouldn't repeat it. I feel like that's not the message about wars past and present that we get from many politicians now

If you believe that people using benefits shouldn't buy cookies, but are fine with them buying flour/sugar/milk/eggs, then you've decided that living in poverty must entail more labour/effort for those people to be worthy of having a treat. 'Poor kids get dessert if they WORK for it.' U suck!!!!

It's an artistic representation of a circulatory system walking through a kitchen, as drawn by Dave Gibbons and written about by Alan Moore.
It happens a lot 'round here.

I get so fucking pissed when I see high budget movies use CGI for normal shit. Oh you CGIed a mouse? What’s it doing? Scampering around? Sitting on a blanket? Fuck you employ a real mouse.

a person in a white shirt and blue striped boxers holds a black and tan dachshund under the armpit with one arm and under the chin with the other. the dog has a massive mouthful of cooked spaghetti chomped in his mouth, with noodles sticking out in all directions, and a single long strand dangling down the length of his skinny body. we know the position isn’t ideal, but the dog was recently fished out of the garbage where he found this treasure, so it’s a temporary solution. the dog’s eyes are wide: likely a combination of joy at the feast, surprise as the swift removal, and shock at having been caught.

We only rate dogs. This is spaghetti con salsiccia. Obviously has the noodles and the sausage, but is notably missing sauce. Please only send dogs. Thank you… 13/10 (IG: futrinka_tacsko)

Disposable cheap N95 respirators are one of the greatest inventions in medical history. We *accidentally* drove one of the circulating flu strains *EXTINCT* in the wild early in COVID!

Last week, I stepped on a dying #wasp and was grateful it wasn't a bee. I miss you in this same grateful way, with the tense-tapering-to-timid expectation of a bodily ache I haven't felt in weeks. I know the vulnerability remains, but I also know it will not kill me.

endlessly annoyed at my neighbours for leaving their cat out constantly bc the number of times I've watched this creature nearly get run over by cars, harassed by kids, and chased by dogs is unreal. soon to be out of nine lives bc the owners don't give a shit about him. HMU if you want a free cat.

It is so dark and gloomy and sleepy-inducing and so very Thursday at the moment.

Autumn vibes are potent but productivity vibes seemed to have maxed out by now.

the incredibly sweet ancient cat that hates my dog finally braved getting near the hound today for some serious sunshine chin scritches. the hound beast IS going to win him over with her non-cat-violent ways and very soft snoot.
