Our oldest was born in 2006. 😊 When we started taking him and his twin brothers to the Gorge with us -- I think around 2014 or 15? -- we always headed straight for the terraces.

This was my 2nd trip to the Gorge; my first was when they came in 2009. That one was... a lot. 😞💔

That's adorable! ♥️ My mom has been gone 15 yrs. I once resurrected an old Yahoo email I'd had in the hopes of finding even just a grocery list from her somewhere in the old messages. We also have 3 boys. I'm so glad my youngest (12 yo twins) have an older brother (19) who knows Tate, Kirk, etc. are douchebags. They look up to him so much; he's going to be more influential on them than either of us will be during their impending teen years.

Blurbs are tough, but I'm less intimidated by the 100k ft view than I am the 30k ft view needed for a 500-1,000 word synopsis. Including more detail runs the risk of pulling me into the weeds. I have 2 weeks to have a draft ready for review by a professional I hired to get my query package ready.

Why is writing a 500 word synopsis more daunting than writing the 100k+ #upmarket #womensfiction novel it summarizes?

It really is. I *thought* I was "finished," then I started putting my query package together. Writing the synopsis really highlights areas to revisit. I saw several spots where I needed to be more crisp on showing progress toward the story goal. #amediting #amwriting #writerscommunity #booksky

One of my tweenaged twins recently needed an x-ray. While waiting in line for the check-in desk, a friendly guy in a #GratefulDead sweatshirt asked him, "Why do ducks have feathers on their tails?" He didn't know. "To cover their butt quacks!" 🤣😂

I laughed harder than he did. 🤷‍♀️🦆
