A stroll through my garden of irises today...🌱

tightly packed inside their spring casings, the imminent blooming of the bearded iris is a yearly event. The buds are just opening at their tops, as tho colorful feathers have been glued to them for a joke. Their green leaves fan out comically like flapping wings.

I just happened to be putzing around in my shady, sandy front yard that can't grow anything but lowbush blueberry and moss and discovered that a Pink Lady Slipper (wild orchid) decided that this was a fine spot to settle down and this is the happiest I've been in a long while. 🌱
