This year's winter storms could prove a disaster for UK puffins Hundreds of dead and dying seabirds are washing up on British beaches.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... Mass deaths like this underline just how fragile our #seabirds are, as well as the urgent need to build resilience in their populations...The #RSPB is calling amongst other things, for stronger protection of breeding colonies from invasive predators. #Biosecurity is key

A few of our colleagues were lucky enough to attend the #IslandInvasives conference in New Zealand this February. A fantastic opportunity to find out what is happening around the world for #biosecurity and #island restoration, knowledge share with experts and learn about developing technologies.

That's the way to do it. So good to see progressive politicians pushing back hard on Reform's messaging. Highly effective and so refreshing and Labour could learn a lot from Polanski in this regard. Take the attack to the Faragists - don't let them get away with it.

Feral goats in Killarney NP. A highly invasive species, goats are (per head) worse destroyers of nature than even sheep, sika deer, or any other herbivore.

That they are tolerated *at all* in any national park is a sign of gross ecological ineptitude.

What you have to understand is that Carbon Capture and Storage is driven not by environmental concerns but by fossil fuel industry demands. It provides both a new revenue stream (at our expense) and the mother of all greenwashing schemes. Whether it works or not (it doesn't) is entirely irrelevant.
