Thanks! Itokori has exceptionally inexpensive fabric but it comes from India and the shipping is about equal to the fabric price. I think it was only about $5/yd for the fabric.

Don’t get hooked

There is a wonderful creative reuse in my area and a thriving fabric swap, but I struggle to find fabric that is usable to me. I don’t wear synthetics and that is most of what I find, or less yardage than I need. However, I need to be MUCH better about using the new fabric I have already purchased.

I’m a thimble advocate! I use tiny sharp needles to make hand stitching easy, but without a thimble I poke holes in my fingers! Here’s my favorite type:

I rarely clean it and I have only ever changed needles and once the blades (I think you are supposed to do that once a year). It was about $250 brand new.
