A great privilege of my career is observing the Shark Bay dolphins. A firm favourite is Starlet - a 22 year old adult male whose father, Realnotch, dominated the alliance landscape. Starlet has inherited his father’s prowess and, with his allies, ranges widely to secure females and take on rivals.

No, it's not a sulphur-crested cockatoo, but it is a clever cockie!

Masters student Miro van den Berg is using light-weight BLE-tags to study the urban lives of the gorgeous gang-gang cockatoo. You can read more here: sites.google.com/site/lucymap...

Ronan the head-bobbing sea lion proves animals can keep a beat: β€˜No human was better’ Sea lion grooving along to hits such as Boogie Wonderland helps show scientists rhythm is not exclusive to humans

Lovely new study by Peter Cook and colleagues - Ronan impressively shows how sea lions can precisely move in time with an auditory beat
