NHS deal with AI firm Palantir called into question after officials’ concerns revealed Exclusive: in 2025 briefing to Wes Streeting, officials warned reputation of tech firm behind US ICE operations would hinder rollout of data system in UK Health officials fear Palantir’s reputation will hinder the delivery of a “vital” £330m NHS contract, according to briefings seen by the Guardian, sparking fresh calls for the deal to be scrapped. In 2023, ministers selected Palantir, a US surveillance technology company that also works for the Israeli military and Donald Trump’s ICE operation, to build an AI-enabled data platform to connect disparate health information across the NHS. To be clear they approached the debating society.

Who does thar?

I'll tell you - people who are deliberately engineering controversy in the hope that it will get talked about on talk radio stations and GB News

Labour is delivering for this country. 🌹

Make no mistake.

Today, we move forward.

2026 will be the year Britain gets its mojo back. ✅

Thanks, Lilbitwytchie. I’m hoping that I can have some minor influence from within. Why can’t we be like Europe where PR is the norm?

This is some of what Labour has done in the last 19 months. What I want is a calm, ordered government that works for the country. Divisive, antagonistic, confrontational politics is harmful. I wish we had PR so all voices were heard.

Workers’ rights strengthened, min wage up, interest rates cut, boosted economic growth, 2 child cap gone, more breakfast clubs, child poverty task force, huge inc in deportation with no legal right to remain. Record funding NHS, massive inc in doctor recruitment, waiting lists down.

It’s a shame you’re antagonistic, Lilbitwytchie, as we probably have a lot in common. My own values are much more to the left of the current government. Labour have only been in power for 1/3 of the last 100 years so they need to prove themselves and convince the voters.

This is why I’ve never joined a party before, although I nearly made an exception for Caroline Lucas. Being realistic, you’re never going to find a party that fully aligns with all your values and sometimes the areas that don’t Venn are very hard to swallow.

I’m not an MP, nor am I accountable for all Labour’s policies. Your post is ridiculous. I joined as a measure of support for Starmer who is (like it or not) probably the current best hope of fending of a chaotic change of PM, destabilisation of the country and the enabling of Reform.

No one in their right mind supports the atrocities committed against the Palestinians, Dee. The govt is working with the Europeans and the US but I wish it would happen far, far quicker.

Thanks, Stephen, much appreciated. I just want calm, reasonable politics which I realise doesn’t suit the right wing press, or other foreign bad-actors. I’m impressed with how much Starmer’s government has achieved so far, even if there are areas I wish were pushed to the forefront.

Elon Musk wants to be the UK's kingmaker – and he's starting with Tommy Robinson Musk has openly aligned himself with far-right factions in UK politics

“Musk is a known insomniac, often posting on his own social network for 18+ hours a day. The UK is awake when the US is asleep, and posts content in English. That means that naturally, a lot of British content will find its way into Musk’s feed, and he jumps on it.”

Israeli court blocks life-saving cancer care for boy, 5, due to his Gaza address Palestinian boy has been in the West Bank since 2022 but is still registered as a resident in the strip where ban applies An Israeli court has rejected an appeal to allow a five-year-old Palestinian boy with an aggressive form of cancer to enter Israel for life-saving treatment, citing a government policy that bars residents registered in Gaza from crossing the border, even when they no longer live there. In a ruling issued on Sunday, the Jerusalem district court dismissed a petition seeking permission to transfer the child from Ramallah to TelHashomer hospital near Tel Aviv for a bone marrow transplant – a procedure unavailable in either Gaza or the occupied West Bank. The boy has been in the West Bank since 2022 where he was receiving medical care unavailable in the Gaza Strip. His doctors have determined that he urgently requires antibody immunotherapy. YouGov has a poll out saying 82% think the media is untrustworthy. As you're a believer in polls don't you think this poll might be something you and your fellow journalists should reflect on and maybe read the replies to your post. They're mostly very critical of the media.
