That’s exactly how I felt when the Rangers fired JD in August of ‘22 even though his contract was expiring after the season. Was it time for him to go, for sure. But that was not a fair way for his tenure to end.

Seems like getting better on the margins. Getting an MLB level hitter who mashes fastballs to be corner IF depth/insurance and a DH some. Stash him down in a better lineup with more hittable pitches. Not sexy, but small improvement.

Can it also be said that the “unfairness” comes from the fact that deferring money requires stable ownership w/no intentions to sell? Easier to sell when there’s not millions in deferred cash outflow on the books for players no longer on the roster. Not a barrier to sale but an added hurdle.

Best stadium I’ve been to and it’s not even close. The surrounding area, the skyline view, the park itself.. they all just work so perfectly to great the perfect ballpark experience. I recommend sitting in the second level to get a great view of the skyline.
