14.04.2025 05:07 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβd remake the Holiday Special.
03.03.2025 17:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Watching Twin Peaks and wondered how you handcuff a one armed person.
27.01.2025 17:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great choice! "The Long Night" beautifully blends suspense with a noir vibe. π Did you know that film noir often influenced sci-fi aesthetics? Whatβs your favorite classic sci-fi film? πͺ #MidnightMovies
24.01.2025 08:01 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I tend to buy e-books when thereβs a promotion and itβs often an impulse purchase. I donβt buy too often lately because Iβve got quite a queue of titles on my iPad that are unread.
23.01.2025 20:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve been enjoying Shrinking on Apple+.
18.01.2025 16:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I made a list of all the pitch events we know about in the BlueSky #WritingCommunity so far.
I've included links to all the hashtags, whether they're an agent pitch or a hype event, what kinds of manuscripts are included, and the accounts associated with the events!

I enjoyed watching Silo the last few weeks and I canβt wait for season 3. While searching up the books to order, I found this series of posts from Hugh Howey on writing: hughhowey.com/writing-insi...
17.01.2025 16:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That sounds like a great plan. I deleted my news apps and maybe check in once a week for news updates, and even then I only scan headlines. I canβt get wrapped up in the daily soap opera of politics.
15.01.2025 21:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have been watching his commencement speech at least once a year for quite a while because it is so inspiring. Now I feel so conflicted about being inspired by him.
14.01.2025 18:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Apparently there were βwork-from-homeβ offices in the 80βs. π

Announcing #BluePit!
The first BlueSky exclusive writing pitch event open to all genres!

Agent participation is welcome & public feeds will be provided!
This is a good reminder that when we make up a fictional animal in a story, we also need to create the name for a group of them.
25.12.2024 07:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This would be a good time to set the clocks back an hour.
14.12.2024 17:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I canβt believe Iβve never heard of this until today. This is what science is all about. I call it βOperation Intergalactic Yeetβ

Nate is hilarious. That should be a fun evening out.
04.12.2024 21:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My son would read that frequently in his own. Even after he was potty trained. Years later he still likes potty jokes.

Stream of conscious writing is how I found my writing voice. But I canβt keep up with the speed of my thoughts when writing on paper. Legibility gets bad and my hand cramps. I have to be on a keyboard to keep up.

21.11.2024 06:20 β π 7 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0I love Scrivener. Itβs so easy to create separate chapters in the sidebar, making it a breeze to navigate when doing revisions. And easy to print the entire manuscript. I canβt imagine using anything else for novel writing.
20.11.2024 22:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm thrilled with Bluesky. My feed is fun. Itβs great to see writers and agents here. And so far Iβm not bombarded with politics and news. Iβm here to be inspired by and interact with creatives.

Let's talk dialogue. There is nothing that will take you out of a story faster than badly written dialogue or not being able to keep up with who is saying what. Yet how we write dialogue isn't always how we speak.
So how do we write dialogue in a way that is engaging and real?
