Still somewhat ashamed that I’d never watched JAWS prior to this week

in 2006, joaquin phoenix flipped his car and werner herzog happened to be there. herzog stopped phoenix from lighting a cigarette and blowing himself up from the gas that had invaded the cabin.

My shame

A pair of floating eyes held together by a fork of optic nerves peeks out of the darkness. The balcony is only a small slab of stone bordered by an iron railing wrought in a simple pattern, revealing that no body, just the eyes are peering out from simple archway in the side of the tower.

Most tragic irony about the Avatar movies is for many people its CGI alien planet may be closest we ever get to experience a rainforest or scuba dive a coral reef, untainted & teeming with life. Last time I dived a reef in Florida, I swam with a ray & hammerheads then surfaced next to a floating TV.
